Sacsahuamon ritual wedding ceremony by artist Tony Trowbridge.

7oo ad Sacsahuamon (pronounced Sexywoman). City above the Inca Capital Cusco.
A wedding ceremony is well under way, these are the brides, well these are the Bridesmaids, however the similarity to our own ceremony ends. These bridesmaids are to be part of the fun and feastivities after the vows have been exchanged.
There will be fifteen bridesmaids and by the end of the day everyone hopes there will still be fifteen? ALIVE.
Mixed media/ acrylic on recycled plastic board, cut and hand stretched natural cotton. 35x42inches.
