National Open Exhibition Quay Arts Entering Tehran by artist Tony Trowbridge

Exhibition runs from Saturday 4th October until 14th November 2008. The Quay Arts Newport, Isle of Wight. It is a contemporary art exhibition made up mostly of abstract works, I would say there was little to no urban, street or lowbrow works.
I got the distinct impression that the panel of judges idea of contemporary was abstract, this is the first time i have been accepted for this exhibition and my piece got in because frankly i do not know why, it looked distinctly out of place next to the other pieces.
Still the object is to get my work seen via any route by as many people as possible.
I have been told the tactile element of the hand crafted book went down well and gives a story as to why UK and US troops should be entering Tehran.
When I did this painting earlier in the year the war was a focal point for the news now its largely a spent force the BBC have bigger and brighter doom and gloom stories to scare us with.

I have completed five Hello art books for my trip to Scotland next week. Well nearly, I have this one complete because it has less pages than the others, the others I should complete before friday pm.

I am staying in Glasgow for the weekend then up into Ardnamurchan to tackle some Munroes.

Hello books vary in size and content depending on the page structure and my brush painting technique some days it flows others its a bit more sloppy.

3inch tall resin and mixed media with an acrylic finish. Based on my stories around Little Missy Evil and Sad Robots need to make their slaves submissive, when screamers (that's a screamer sculpture) get hold of any weapons they tend to end thier lives in spectacular fashion, after all there is no way to escape Little Missy Evils Domain of Pain.

On my way to the Moulin Rouge i passed the Musee de L'Erotisme (Erotic Art Gallery), Yep i had to go in and have a look, as you do, it's well worth a trip. A large collection of paintings and sculptures.
No photographs as you would expect but no notices saying No Sketching. Above is a quick pen sketch of one corner section i think on the third floor (why i did not note that fact down eludes me).
The Musee de L'Erotisme is on the Boulevard de Clichy, 18th Arrondissement, Montmartre, Paris.

Under the guise of Studio Chaos I have now completed the first phase, the fronts of six T-shirts with a freehand painting of Johnny Depp, Pirate.
They are now due to go away for sponsor printing and will be worn by the Dark Magicians support team on the night of the Magical burning of the dead mans chest on top of the bonfire, the main event nov 5th, Sandown Isle of Wight, when the Dark Magician will attempt to escape from the burning chest.

Graffiti Art Paris hand crafted art book journal by artist Tony Trowbridge

Paris? Four day break , took in the sights as you do, then decided to collect the graffiti positioned prominently around mainly the Montmartre area, i did this by sketching the graffiti into one of my already prepared books just like blue Peter.

Some sketches are much rougher than i would of liked but hey thats what happens when you draw from life with a right dodgey brush.
