Pregnant by Veronica Grimm

The Isle of Wight has one of the biggest problems with under age Pregnancies in the UK due in part to low social education.
The Island is a very poor community, when you start delving into its underbelly, incomes are low, 50% of the population is on benefits or retired. The holiday makers that come are mostly from deprived areas themselves on cheapo coach trips and fail to bring the necessary revenue the Island needs.
Becoming another under age mother no longer brings stigma but it is a form of Suicide for future prosperity.

Isle of Wight,Sandown wettest day of year life study

27 May 2007, It did not stop raining all day, heavy and persistant.
At around noon I drove to the Sandown Bay holiday site, went over the cliff and hunkered down behind some bushes that overlooked the beach. (Beach devoid of humans)
Propping a canvas up I started to splish- splash in acrylics using my hand and a palette knife
I was wet and cold but I enjoy painting in bad weather. 30inches x 40inches box canvas Title: Culver Cliff.

Nude Bathing by Veronica Grimm

Wash Night on the Isle Of Wight.
Due to the Earths natural cycle which is bringing you humans closer to the Sun, this in turn increases radiation splatering the Earth, As the Earth heats up (Natural Global Warming). The increased Carbon in the Atmosphere reduces the harmfull radiation hitting the Earths surface.
Needless to Say that means in the UK we have to watch our water consumption because the natural climate change could go any way, more or less water (You do not know yet).
still until then enjoy bath night!!!!

boudoir Screen, Changing Ladies

As usual for the Island I did a simple job for a client . Spray paint two images on the bonnet of their van, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison, Client could not come up with the final small payment so offered a swop for a screen that a charity shop had just refused to take. no wonder, I thought when I saw the Screen it was covered back and front in sunflowers.
Awfull ! Still I took it and painted a day and night scene on it( this side is the day.)
The Screen is approx 6 feet tall and 4 feet long

customizing toys by Veronica Grimm Hulk to Conan the Barbarian

The Hulk vinyl model approx 12inches tall now customized into Conan the Barbarian.
I used clay for the hair ,belt, helmet and furs, dry brushed acrylic. Once the concept to make the change occured to me there really was not much time taken to accomplish the custom, I am however having trouble sourcing a large enough sword or double edged axe to really finish the job.
What do you think?

The Blond goes Down

Usually I get People to pose but I found this Black and White still of two women fighting and it gave me the inspiration to paint a pic based loosely on the photo.
I wanted a lot of movement and more brutallity in the composition, a more impressionistic approach, less detail to give it more of a visual impact.

Isle of Wight Females Fight club uncovered

There has been a tendancy for an increase in female related violence on the Island in the past few years generally attributed to increase in alcohol abuse. This is not true. The Fight Club for women set up by the local residents association is bringing through some very talented street fighters, however they have no venues and are being forced to fight openly in public places.

I found this real beat up12inch terminator at the car boot, it had really been through the wars, I took it home and promptly sawed off his extemities. Scream, I have never heard such crying by a terminator before, after I explained what I was doing he only sobbed for the rest of the operation.
rebuilt with bits from other vinyl toys he now stands 15inches tall, a very fine specimen he now makes other toys sob. I repainted the ripped off head and rebased.
Acrylic paint job.

isle of wight gets new famous visitor

Yesterday Batman made his presence known on the island when he pulled two children away from a speeding disability vehicle carreering down the pavement in Sandown high street, people stopped agape at the gowned figure.
His true intent is unknown but he was probably here on vacation to date one of Veronica Grimms friends, her studio was a mere stones throw from the incident.

isle of wight seascape live studies by local artist

I appear to be unable to adjust the type position so I appologise if its out of sink.
The last week has been a bit frantic, I was exhibiting my Local seascapes at St Helens Restaurant in St Helens Isle of Wight. Over Easter I sold out my second group of Acrylic live Studies, this meant I had to get down the beach and do some more painting, the best time is early morning preferably in a storm. No one around and you get the whole beach to yourself.
I paint quickly in acrylic very thickly and with gusto usually on canvas but if I find beach salvage that will do, most are framed in the driftwood I find on the beach, its my way of helping to keep the beach clean.
I love painting my Sci-fi /urban art/women but these at the moment do not bring in the money I need to survive as a struggling artist. So onward with the seascapes. I have just hung a further twelve large paintings at St Helens and have now got 4 more canvases ready to paint.

customized urban art by Veronica Grimm

Found Base in Skip, looked like a large red Jellybaby.
Poor thing just thrown away, I thought I would bring it back to life with a bit of spraying and I think if you had just been discarded like that, you too would be angry, hence the title Angry Jellybaby Bot.
